Tokyo Midwife Inc. is a coordination and navigation service — not a medical institution — that connects international families in Japan with trusted midwives and maternal-child health professionals. Founded by Eriko Lalanne, a midwife with 18 years of experience including eight and a half years at Akasaka Sanno Hospital, the company helps families navigate language, cultural, and healthcare-system barriers during pregnancy, birth, and the parenting years. Services include free initial consultations, professional referrals and follow-up, an English communication training program for Japanese maternity care professionals (Josanshi English®), and global midwifery networking events. Support is offered in both English and Japanese, with sensitivity to diverse cultural and religious backgrounds.
