We took our 2 kids at ages 0-5 to see Dr. Akashi for vaccinations and regular checkups or the occasional sickness. It got the job done and was immensely helpful especially when we arrived in Japan with little to no Japanese ability and our kids needed plenty of vaccinations, etc. Dr. Akashi`s english is easy to understand and we always got the help we needed. Our kids enjoyed the books and stuffed animals in the waiting area. I do wish there was a pediatric nurse at this clinic. The staff was friendly to our kids but not super skilled at giving medical care in a child friendly way. I kind of got used to this and was able to talk the kids through things in a way that would make more sense to them. After a couple years living in Japan and with the ability to speak some Japanese, we have switched to a pediatric clinic a block from our house that is happy to use a translating device with us when we struggle to understand. This has been a much better fit for our little ones.
